From humble beginnings to a thriving center of excellence
Fr. Joseph Richetti, an Italian-born Consolata Priest, worked tirelessly in Karuri parish with a vision to establish a Catholic school that would bring positive change through education, spiritual growth, and moral development.
Rev Fr. David Njau joined Karuri Parish and restructured St. Marks Nursery. With dedication and focus, the nursery became a success, inspiring parents to request a full Catholic primary school.
On October 1st, a historic luncheon raised over Kshs. 1 million, enabling the purchase of the first school van and laying the groundwork for the school's establishment.
In January, our first cohort of pupils was welcomed into Class One, marking the official beginning of Fr. Joseph Richetti Catholic School. Parents showed tremendous confidence in this new educational venture.
Rev Fr. Emmanuel Ngugi Ndung'u joined the parish, and in September, the school was officially registered with 315 pupils, marking a significant milestone in our growth.
The Competency Based Curriculum was successfully rolled out with full support from the Board of Management and parents, ensuring smooth transition and ongoing teacher training.
Our students represented Kiambaa sub-county at the National Music Festivals, showcasing the school's commitment to holistic education and talent development.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, the school quickly adapted by introducing online classes, demonstrating resilience and commitment to continuous learning.
Under the leadership of Fr. John Kung'u (Director) and our dedicated staff, the school continues to thrive as a vibrant community of learners and mentors. The school now includes Junior Secondary section and has fully implemented the Competency-Based Education (CBE) curriculum.
